Banashree Baruah: Good afternoon! Sorry I was not able to contact you as my net connection was slow these days. But now that I got a chance to interact with you, I am glad. You already know that we are working on a project in the guidance of our coach Mr.Anutosh Deb....and I am happy that you agreed to help us with it. So I hope that you don't mind sparing your valuable time for us and interacting with us.
We are looking ahead for your co-operation and wanted to know if you ever had any kind of difficulties in your life in the learning field?
Anant Mhetre: Ya, I had many problems during the learning process. First when I had to start swimming no swimming pool was ready to take me due to my problems. but symbiosis pool took me and while learning swimming I was not able to move forward for about 1 month, my coach used to leave me in the middle of the pool and i used to move my hands and legs but I was not able to move ahead, then i kept on practicing and now I have won gold medals. Secondly when I started learning the flute I was not able to hold the flute properly playing it was far off,all my class mates used to discourage me and told me don't come here to learn u wont be able to play the flute but it so happened that the people who said this to me where the once who not able to play the flute and I was selected for the band and later I became the band head. Thirdly writing was a problem but then when I was very small my mother used to make me sit on big cardboards and give me plenty of water colours, different shapes of brushes, colour pencils, sketchpens so that b'coz of the attractive colors I wuld hold them and try to write or paint. My parents used to appreciate what ever I did and that encouraged me to write. They treated me like a normal child and taught me riding a bicycle. Initially learning to use my hands was a bit difficult then the normal childern and had to try very hard to succeed and i never gave up.
Banashree Baruah: It's very good that you never gave up....it is the only key towards success. Well it seems like you love playing the keyboard?
Anant Mhetre: Thanks........well when I was in the 7th std when I felt that I want to play the synthesizer,so I persuaded my parents to get me a synth and they bought a small synth for me and I started setting songs on the synthesizer on my own .and now I am learing in professionally by piano techniques. In my class if others don't get the song my teacher does'nt say any thing to them but I even make a slight mistake while playing the song he scolds me because he wants me to do the best.
Banashree Baruah: Maybe your teacher can see that potential you have got. So you get full support from the people around you? And what about your academic performance? Well being a student I am able to understand the difficulties that rises in our academic life...even I come across many such. What about you?
Anant Mhetre: As a student in the school I was troubled by my primary school teachers. So it was a very tough time for me as troubled me with my hand writing ,so I used to always tensed and scared of the teachers. But when I went to the high school then those teachers never troubled me but encouraged me in studies and all my other extra circular activities.
Deepita Roy: May i know what you want to do in future ? What do you want to become when you grow up?
Anant Mhetre: I want to become an economist.

SHOW CASE 2: PRAGYA SHRIVASTAVA from Jodhpur, India
Our Team Member Pragya Shrivasta, from Jodhpur ......
Learning disability! It is not only a problem, but often brings a lot of stress among the children. Often I see that due to burden of studies their stress level raises to that level from which the life becomes a jail. This depends on the behavior of the society and parents. The discrimination with the child works as a pulley and this again helps increases the stress. Nobody can understand what the child feels better than the child only. That is why I and my madam Mrs. Ratna Pathak and Mrs. Sujata Gupta mam went to Pragya’s, a 12th class student suffering from a physical disability ‘Cerebral palsy’, to know about him and his feelings. Pragya is also a part of the Team, 'Its my Story'. With the help of my teachers I took his short interview. The interview is as follows:..
• Pragya: I am suffering from cerebral.
• Atul : What do you feel after being suffering from this disability?
• Pragya : I really sometimes feel very bad as I have problem in interacting with others. My friends play in front of me, that time I really feels bad as I cannot play with them.
• Atul : What is the behaviour of other students toward you?
• Pragya : Sometimes they make me happy but mostly their behaviour toward me is so different, as I am disabled. I really feel bad when they use wrong language and abuse words for me.
• Atul : Is this disability affecting your studies?
• Pragya : Yes. Of course it affects my studies as I feel problem in writing during exams, but I have to manage for it.
• Atul : How do you feel when your friends play before you?
• Pragya : It feels really very bad. Everyone wants to play with their friends for a better interaction.
• Atul : What do you think you are good at other than academics?
• Pragya : I am interested in writing poems and I am also good in Urdu.
• A last question from you what do you want do for others like you?
• Pragya : Yes for other I want good medical facilities and education among them also. I also want to spread awareness among people.
